The easiest way to get to campus is to get on I-83 and take either the
Cold Spring Lane exit or the Northern Parkway exit, depending on where you
want to park (see below).
Directions to I-83
- From the West: Take I-70 east to I-695 north. Exit I-695
onto I-83 south after about 10 miles.
- From the North along I-95: Take I-95 south to I-695 west.
Exit from I-695 onto I-83 south about 2 miles after the exit for I-83
north (about 7 miles total on I-695).
- From the North along I-83: Follow I-83 south to where it joins
I-695 west. Stay in the right lanes and exit onto I-83 south about two miles
after the merge.
- From the South: There are two options. The easiest is to
take I-95 north to I-695 north (a left exit off of I-95), and follow I-695
about 15 miles to the exit onto I-83 south. There is a more direct option that
involves cutting through the inner harbor area of Baltimore: take I-95 north
past I-695 to I-395 north (Exit 53). At the end of I-395 is a traffic light.
Go straight through that light and take a right at the next light onto
Pratt Street. Follow Pratt Street several blocks and make a left onto
President Street (a couple of blocks after ESPN Zone). President Street
becomes I-83 north.
Directions to Parking from I-83
The most convenient parking is free street parking along Charles Street or
Cold Spring Lane. The buildings for the conference and contest are
very close to the corner of Charles and Cold Spring. There is usually
a lot of competition for those spots, but since it is our Fall Break,
there should not be so many students' cars parked there. The other option is
to park at the Catheral of Mary Our Queen about 1 mile north of campus along
Charles Street and take a free shuttle back to campus. The shuttle stop is
right between two of the buildings used for the conference and contest.
- Directions to the Cathedral: Exit I-83 onto Northern Parkway
heading east. Turn right onto Charles Street at the 3rd light (counting
Falls Road as the 1st -- if you are coming from southbound I-83 there
is an additional light to go through at the interchange). Go through
one light on Charles Street and take the next right into the Cathedral
parking lot. Loyola parking is the leftmost two rows in the lot.
- Directions to Charles Street: Exit I-83 onto Cold Spring Lane
heading east. Follow Cold Spring about two miles and make a left onto Charles
Street. You will know you are getting close when you see the Loyola College
banners along the road and the signs for our high- and low- rise dorms.
You can also continue through the light and park along Cold Spring Lane
east of Charles.
Directions to the Contest Rooms
There is a
campus map available on the College web site. The buildings of interest
are in the Central Region.
- Sellinger Hall (breakfast): Sellinger Hall (#21 on the campus map)
is on Ennis Parallel, which is the driveway off of Charles Street just north of
the pedestrian bridge. Breakfast will be available in the lobby.
- Knott Hall (orientation and computer lab): Knott Hall
(#13 on the campus map) is on the east side of Charles street. It can be
entered on the south side from the ground level or directly from the
pedestrian bridge. Come to KH 309 for orientation and to get your assignment
to one of the two labs used for the contest. The KH006 lab can be reached by
going down the stairs on the north (pedestrian bridge) end of the building and
then going all the way down the hall to the other end of the building.
- Donnelly Science Center (computer lab): Donnelly Science
Center (#14 on the map) is on the corner of Charles and Cold Spring.
It can be entered from Knott Hall on the floor and above and also from
level 0 of Knott through the breezeway. The DSC 121 computer lab is
on the north end of the first floor, immediately on the right as you
cross over from the first floor of Knott Hall.
- Andrew White Student Center (lunch): The student center
(#24 on the map) is on Ennis Parallel at the end furthest from
Charles Street (and hence furthest from Sellinger). The walk along the
campus quad is much more pleasant than the walk along Ennis Parallel.
Lunch will be in McGuire Hall.
